How do I start a Commission?

Head to our Start Your Design page and fill out the commission form. Tell us what you're looking to create, upload any reference images, and include your contact info. We review all submissions and follow up within 48 hours with a quote and next steps. No DM required — the form gets your vision straight to us.

How much does a commission cost?

Pricing depends on the type of piece, complexity, number of characters, and size. Custom shoes start lower than a full resin table, for example. Rather than list a price that might not match your project, we give every inquiry a custom quote based on your specific vision. Fill out the form and we'll have a number to you within 48 hours — no obligation to proceed.

how long does a commission take?

Standard commissions are completed within 2–4 weeks from the date your deposit is received, depending on complexity and our current queue. Rush commissions (under 2 weeks) are available for an additional fee and subject to availability — let us know your deadline in the form and we'll let you know if we can accommodate it.

What is the deposit and when do I pay the rest?

A 25% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot and start work. Once your piece is complete and approved, the remaining 75% is due before delivery. We invoice through Novo — you can pay via PayPal, Venmo, or debit/credit card.

how many revisions do i get?

Each commission includes up to 2 rounds of revisions at no extra charge. A revision covers minor adjustments to an approved concept — think color tweaks, small compositional changes, or detail refinements. Major scope changes (new characters, full redesigns) after approval are quoted separately. We share a work-in-progress preview before finalizing so you can catch anything early.

can i commission a specific character or scene?

Absolutely — that's our specialty. Whether it's a specific character, arc, battle scene, or your own original concept, we work from your references and vision. The more detail you give us in the form (characters, color palette, mood, specific moments), the closer we'll get it on the first draft. Upload reference images directly in the commission form for best results.

can i commission something that's not on the product list?

Yes — select "Other" in the commission form and describe what you have in mind. We've worked on a range of custom pieces beyond our standard categories. If it's something we can create, we'll tell you. If it's outside our current capabilities, we'll let you know that too — no runaround.

do you post my commission on social media?

We do share completed work on our Instagram and website as part of our portfolio, unless you request otherwise. If you'd like your piece kept private, just let us know at the time of your inquiry — we're happy to accommodate that. Either way, the piece is yours once final payment is made.

🛍 Shop & Available Pieces

what's the difference between a commission and a shop piece?

A commission is built from scratch to your exact vision — you choose the subject, style, size, and details. A shop piece is a finished original that we've already created and is available to purchase right now, as-is. Shop pieces ship faster and are priced to sell — but once they're gone, they don't come back. Every shop piece is one of a kind.

How often do new pieces drop in the shop?

We add new pieces regularly — follow us on Instagram @arigatoustudio and turn on post notifications to be first when something new drops. We also announce drops via Instagram Stories before they go live on the site. New pieces sell fast, so following is the best way to not miss one.

can i request a piece similar to something sold?

Yes — use the commission form and reference the sold piece you liked. We can create something in a similar style, subject, or format. Keep in mind that commissions are original works, so the result will be its own piece, not a replica of the sold one.

Shipping Policy

Thank you for shopping with Arigatou Studio. Please review our shipping terms and processing timelines below.

Processing & Production Times

* Standard In-Stock Products: Pre-made artwork, physical merchandise, and apparel are processed and dispatched within 3–5 business days of order confirmation.

* Custom Commissions & Made-to-Order Items: Custom artwork and specialized physical commissions require dedicated creation time. Standard turnaround is 2–4 weeks from deposit receipt and project approval, depending on complexity and production queue.

* Tracking: Once your order or completed commission ships, you will receive a confirmation email containing your tracking information.

Shipping Rates & Transit Estimates

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on package weight, dimensions, and delivery destination.

* Domestic Shipping (US): Standard transit typically takes 3–7 business days via USPS or UPS once dispatched. Express options are available at checkout.

* International Shipping: International delivery times vary by destination, typically taking 1–3 weeks.

Note: Custom duties, import taxes, or foreign VAT fees are not included in our shipping rates and are the sole responsibility of the customer upon package entry into the destination country.

Delivery Holds & Address Accuracy

* Final Balance Hold (Commissions): For custom commissioned pieces, the remaining final balance must be paid in full prior to dispatch. Physical items will not ship until the balance clears.

* Address Verification: Items ship strictly to the address provided at the time of payment checkout. Arigatou Studio is not responsible for delayed, lost, or misdelivered shipments resulting from incorrect addresses provided by the buyer.

Damaged, Lost, or Stolen Packages

* Damaged in Transit: If your package arrives damaged, please inspect the contents and contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and clear photos of the packaging and damaged item.

* Lost or Missing Packages: If your tracking indicates that your package was delivered but you have not received it, please check with household members and local postal service first. Arigatou Studio is not liable for packages marked "Delivered" by the carrier that are subsequently lost or stolen.

Do you ship?

Yes, we ship within the US. Pieces are carefully packaged to protect them in transit — every order includes tracking. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on your location and the size/weight of the piece. For large items like resin tables, we'll confirm shipping method and cost with you directly before finalizing the order.

how are pieces packaged?

We take packaging seriously. Every piece is wrapped and protected before it ships — the goal is for it to arrive in the same condition it left the studio. Shoes ship in their box with additional protective wrapping. Canvas and wall art pieces are secured against bending and impact. Resin tables ship with custom protective packaging. If anything arrives damaged, contact us immediately with photos and we'll make it right.

what if my order arrives damaged?

Contact us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging. We'll review and work with you on a resolution — whether that's a replacement, repair, or refund depending on the situation. We stand behind every piece we send out.

1. Intellectual Property & Ownership

* Original Artwork & Designs: All site content—including original illustrations, custom shoe artwork, wood art, epoxy designs, graphics, text, and logos—is the exclusive intellectual property of Arigatou Studio and is protected by U.S. and international copyright laws.

* Portfolio Rights: Arigatou Studio retains the right to document, display, and share all completed custom artwork and footwear in our online portfolio, marketing materials, and social media channels unless a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) or non-display request is formally agreed upon in writing prior to starting work.

* Personal Use Only: All custom commissions, physical products, and prints are sold for personal use only. Commercial reproduction, resale, redistribution, or modification of Arigatou Studio's work is strictly prohibited without express written consent.

2. Handcrafted Goods & Product Variations (Texas DTPA Disclaimer)

Under the Texas Business and Commerce Code, custom and hand-finished products are subject to natural variations:

* Custom & Hand-Painted Items: Because custom footwear, hand-painted artwork, and finished wood pieces are crafted by hand, minor variations in texture, color balance, brushwork, and finish are inherent to the process.

* Display Accuracy: Color representation may vary slightly depending on your electronic screen settings.

* Disclaimer: Minor handcrafted variations do not constitute a product defect, mistake, or grounds for a refund.

3. Texas Data Privacy & Consumer Rights

In compliance with the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act (TDPSA) and Texas consumer protection standards:

* Data Collection: We collect customer personal information (e.g., name, shipping address, email address, payment details) solely to fulfill orders, process invoices, and deliver store updates.

* No Sale of Data: Arigatou Studio does not sell or lease your personal data or sensitive information to third parties.

* Consumer Rights: Texas residents have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of their personal data stored by Arigatou Studio. To exercise these rights, contact us at [Insert Your Email].

4. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted under Texas law, Arigatou Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

* Delays, losses, or physical packaging damage caused by third-party shipping carriers once an item has been dispatched.

* Unforeseen delays in custom commission creation schedules.

5. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

* Governing Law: These Terms, all store policies, and any disputes arising from website use or purchases shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.

* Exclusive Venue: Any legal action, claim, or proceeding arising out of or relating to Arigatou Studio shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

6. Modifications

Arigatou Studio reserves the right to update or amend this Legal Notice and associated store policies at any time. Any revisions take effect immediately upon posting to this website.

Refund and Return Policies

Return & Refund Policy

Thank you for shopping and commissioning work with Arigatou Studio. Please read our policy carefully before placing an order.

Strict No-Refund Policy

All sales are final. Arigatou Studio does not offer refunds, returns, or exchanges on any purchases—including standard retail products, digital downloads, original pre-made artwork, apparel, and custom commissions—except under the explicit exceptions outlined below.

Custom & Commissioned Orders

Due to the personalized nature of custom artwork and made-to-order items, custom orders are strictly non-refundable once work has commenced.

* Non-Refundable Deposit: The initial 25% deposit required to secure your commission is strictly non-refundable once work begins. If you cancel after work has started, the deposit is forfeited.

* Approval & Revisions: You will receive a work-in-progress preview to review before finalization. Every commission includes up to 2 rounds of minor revisions (e.g., color tweaks or small compositional adjustments). Once you give final approval on a preview, no further changes, cancellations, or refunds can be requested.

* Payment Terms & Delivery: The remaining balance is due upon completion. Final physical pieces or digital files will not be delivered until the balance is paid in full. If payment is not received within 7 days of the completion notice, delivery will be withheld until the balance is cleared.

* Client Unresponsiveness: If you become unresponsive for more than 30 consecutive days during an active commission, Arigatou Studio reserves the right to close the project and retain the non-refundable deposit.

Standard Retail Products (Non-Commissioned)

For pre-made artwork, physical merchandise, apparel, and digital files bought directly from the store:

* Final Sale: All purchases of standard in-stock inventory are final. We do not accept returns or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect size selection, or buyer's remorse. Please review all sizing charts, product descriptions, and photos carefully before completing your purchase.

Exceptions & Studio Guarantees

* Damaged or Defective Items: If a physical item arrives damaged in transit or defective, contact us within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and photo proof of the damage. Verified damaged or defective items will be replaced or refunded at our discretion.

what payment methods do you accept?

We accept PayPal, Venmo, and debit/credit card. Commission payments are processed via invoice. Shop purchases are handled directly through the website at checkout.

Can I get a refund a commission?

The 25% deposit is non-refundable once work has begun — it covers the time and materials invested in starting your piece. If you cancel before work begins, contact us and we'll handle it on a case-by-case basis. Finished commission pieces are final. Shop piece sales are final given the one-of-a-kind nature of the work.

can i use the artwork for commercial purposes?

Standard commissions are for personal use only. If you intend to use the artwork commercially — on merchandise, for a brand, for resale — you need to disclose that in your inquiry so we can discuss commercial licensing, which is priced separately. Using personally-commissioned work for commercial purposes without a licensing agreement is a violation of our terms.

where are you located?

Arigatou Studio is based in Frisco, TX. We're an online studio — we work with clients nationwide and ship across the US. Local pickup may be available for certain orders — ask us when you inquire.
